Last week Blackpool Council attended UKREiiF - The UK's Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum.
Our second time at UKREiiF was a triumph. We met with many people throughout the three days and had people on hand to chat and answer any questions about Blackpool. The stand also showcased products for the delegates to try, with drinks and rock provided by local Blackpool businesses.
The Hampton by Hilton also very generously offered a giveaway prize of a two-night stay at the newly renovated South Promenade hotel. The lucky winner has been selected and contacted.
As well as the stand, there were multiple panels across the three days that were used to further showcase the amazing transformation of Blackpool and multiple regeneration projects taking place.
Nick Gerrard, Growth and Prosperity Programme Director of Blackpool Council, spoke at the Key Cities and Net Zero: Levelling Up, Emissions Down – Leaders Networking Lunch. During this event he spoke about the progress that key places like Blackpool are making towards net zero, and how investors can get involved and support to achieve these targets.
Talha Yakub, Head of Investment, and Rob Green, Head of Enterprise Zones, spoke at the North West: Investor and Developer Facilitation session. They discussed investment opportunities across Blackpool and gave investors, developers and end-users the chance to discuss these with them.
Lastly, Tony Doyle, Head of Digital and IT Futures, appeared on the panel for Delivering Digital Britain – Connecting the UK to the World and Creating a More Inclusive Society. This session explored the next generation of requirements to grow the economy and allowed Tony to talk through Blackpool’s Silicon Sands development to create a new home for ethically powered data centres.
It was great for Blackpool Makes It Work to take our £2bn+ investment programme to REiiF and we’re looking forward to doing it all over again in 2024!
