Transforming Blackpool’s Housing: A £90 Million Investment in Place-Making
Blackpool Council, backed by a landmark £90 million government and Homes England investment, is delivering one of the most ambitious housing regeneration programmes in the North West.
A 15-year transformation plan covering 47 hectares will reshape inner Blackpool by replacing poor-quality housing with modern, energy-efficient homes, revitalising neighbourhoods, and improving access to more green spaces, healthcare, education, and leisure. Up to 3,000 homes could be built or refurbished.
First phase detail:
- 4.3 hectares of land and property to be acquired
- Up to 280 homes to be developed
- Up to 5,500sqm of commercial and community floor space created
- Land assembly has commenced
- Planning application to be submitted Autumn 2025
