Business, Professional and Financial Services

An established commercial centre, Blackpool combines a transformed town-centre office product with a large-scale administrative workforce.

Blackpool’s proposition to businesses with prime office requirements is now being transformed through the development of Talbot Gateway – an entirely new central business district and civic quarter representing more than 1 million sq. ft. of new development.

Grade-A office accommodation developments

The first phase of Talbot Gateway includes No.1 Bickerstaffe Square, 125,000 sq.ft. of Grade-A office accommodation. The building is highly efficient, having achieved a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ score and an EPC A rating – the highest that can be awarded. The development also includes a refurbished, 650-space multi-storey car park.

In addition, Talbot Gateway has been chosen as The Department of Work and Pensions’ new civil service regional hub – bringing over 3000 civil servants to the town centre, which in turn will drive footfall and bring a huge economic boost to retailers and local businesses.

Significant cost savings for businesses

Blackpool’s compelling business location offer is completed by a highly competitive cost base. The area’s labour costs are significantly lower than the national averages, while industrial rents are amongst the lowest for England’s industrial Enterprise Zone locations.

Excellence in education and skills

Blackpool’s established administrative and professional workforce is supported by local colleges and universities providing courses and qualifications aligned with the needs of office-based businesses.

A large office-based labour force

Blackpool’s town-centre property offer is complemented by a large, high-quality pool of office-based workers. The Blackpool area has a higher percentage of all workers in each of the ‘Administrative and Secretarial’ and ‘Sales and Customer Services’ categories than the North West (regional) and Great Britain averages.
