Blackpool Council will be showcasing opportunities for investment in the town at international property convention MIPIM next March
Blackpool Council will join media publication Place North’s delegation of northern towns and companies at MIPIM, all aiming to promote the area as a destination for future investment.
The Blackpool delegation will aim to promote the town as a whole, as well as promoting major development opportunities at Blackpool Central and Silicon Sands on Blackpool Airport Enterprise Zone.
Cllr Lynn Williams, Leader of Blackpool Council said: “Our £2bn growth and prosperity programme in Blackpool is all about growing our local economy, creating jobs for local people and improving where we live.
“Most of that investment so far has come from the Council making secure investments in infrastructure, while we’ve also been very successful at attracting Government funding. To continue the level of regeneration we need, we have to promote Blackpool for international investments from the private sector.
“We have a fantastic opportunity to market Blackpool, not just because of our £1.7bn visitor economy, but because also we have the workforce, skills provision and ambition to support investment across a range of sectors.
“We’re pleased to be working with Place North again, who have been fantastic supporters and share our passion for commercial property regeneration in Blackpool.”
The commitment to promote Blackpool at MIPIM is the latest in a range of promotional work for the town, following on from successful exhibitions at UKREiiF over the last three years.
It also continues a partnership with Place North that has included keynote speaking slots at key development conferences across the North West.
